12 Marathons in 12 Months

Stuart Wells is proud to support our Technical Director Mark Pickett as he commits to running 12 marathons over 12 months. Mark has set himself this extraordinary challenge to raise money and awareness for Bowel Cancer UK. The charity is close to Mark's heart as he explains "As a keen runner of half marathons, I have been continually inspired by the strength and resilience of my sister-in-laws battle with Bowel Cancer, and have decided 2025 is the year to up the stakes to full marathons. Michelle is currently fighting this terrible disease for the fourth time! Having been first diagnosed in 2020, she and her husband Dave, and children Georgia and Harry have gone through the enormous lows of this illness with surgeries, and chemotherapy. |
As a result, I have set myself the challenge to complete 12 marathons during 2025 (one each month) to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK. I completed my first marathon of the year on Saturday at the Windmill Way Wonder Marathon in a time of 3 hours 54 minutes. I was really pleased with my time as the hills were a lot more brutal than I was expecting!
Having reached our initial fundraising target in one hour, we doubled it and reached that in 36 hours, so we have raised the target for a third time!! Thank you everyone who has already donated, it is really appreciated.
