Methane Gas Venting Stacks
Methane gas venting is actively undertaken by the installation of gas venting stacks which will rotate in wind speeds as low as three kilometres per hour
Ventilation rates in excess of 1500 litres per minute are typically achieved with average wind speed of 16 kilometres per hour
The rotating cowl is available in two sizes, one suitable for pipes up to 150mm diameter (model no. RC150) and for pipes up to 200mm (model no. RC200 - see table below)

Flux Boxes
The Passive Flux Box is designed to quantify total methane emissions across a surveyed area, providing an effective solution for landfill and
environmental monitoring applications. By measuring methane flux through a site cap, surveys can identify areas where gas emissions exceed regulatory limits, helping operators target remedial actions and maintain compliance with Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) requirements.
The system consists of a passive enclosure with a known internal volume and two ports mounted on the upper surface. The inlet port allows pressure equalisation, while the outlet port enables gas sampling. This design allows gas samples to be collected without disturbing the internal pressure of the flux box, ensuring accurate and reliable measurements.
Methane concentrations within the enclosure are analysed using a compatible gas analyser (not supplied).
Manufactured from white polyethylene, as recommended by the Environment Agency, the Passive Flux Box minimises thermal differences between the inside and outside of the enclosure during warm weather conditions. This helps improve measurement consistency and accuracy.
Lightweight and durable, each flux box weighs less than 10 kg, making it easy for site personnel to transport and deploy multiple units across a survey area.
