Piezometers
A piezometer tip containing a porous element is connected via rigid tubing to ground level. Piezometric pressure at the tip is indicated by the head of water that develops inside the standpipe tubing. This water level is normally determined by lowering a dipmeter probe from ground level, but remote reading systems can also be supplied.
Tubes & Fittings
Lengths of standpipe tubing are supplied, complete with all necessary connectors. For borehole installations, it is normal to use rigid PVC. Piezometer pipe with an internal diameter of 19 mm is available in lengths of one and three metres. Each end is threaded .75" MBSP and supplied with one threaded socket for connection. Piezometer Tips
Porous HDPE or ceramic piezometer elements are available with an average pore diameter of approximately 60 microns and a permeability of approximately 3 x10-4m/sec. The tips are supplied with a .75" BSP threaded connector.
